We had a great time at this hotel! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with all the information we needed for our adventures. The location was perfect, central to all the activities and just a short walk away from the glacier. Our room was clean and comfortable, with amenities like heating, a terrace, and garden furniture. The shared kitchen was well-equipped, and we enjoyed having meals in the dining area. The communal areas were spacious and well-equipped, with a huge kitchen and cozy sitting room. The kitchen had plenty of fridge space and a good stove, perfect for cooking meals. The sitting room had a big log fire, sofas, and entertainment options like a pool table, piano. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of town but tucked away from the main road, so no street noise. Additionally, there was a free sauna available, a nice touch for relaxation.
The door noise in the rooms was a bit of a nuisance. The heavy fire doors made a loud slamming noise when people left them to close on their own, which could wake you up if your neighbors were early risers.

No hot water the first morning but it got fixed quickly.

The hostel surprised us for the good! We were not expecting such a large and well-equipped common area and kitchen. It had comfy couches, a fireplace, a pool table, and even a movie room. We had a great time playing pool and watching a movie after a long day on the road. we loved to see how the hostel had implemented several conservation efforts, such as solar panels and water-saving showerheads. Another advantage was that the bathrooms and our room were exceptionally clean.
We noticed that some of the neighboring backpackers' motels provided a free breakfast to their customers. We, unfortunately, did not have one included.

The communal kitchen at Yha was well-stocked and spacious, making it easy to prepare meals. I even found a clean table after giving it a quick wipe down. The common area had lots of books, games, and a pool table, perfect for relaxing after a long day. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable, with a kettle and supplies for tea and coffee. I had a great stay at Yha and would recommend it.

the setup was great with ample space and excellent facilities. the location was perfect, close to town, and with easy access to high private sites which were breathtaking. the clean, tidy rooms were well equipped and the kitchen had everything that we needed and more. the friendly staff were always available to help with any queries. the common areas were clean and comfortable, and the sauna was a highlight. We also appreciated the outdoor cold shower which added to the experience.
Noise levels during the night were a significant issue that made it hard to get a good night’s sleep despite being at the end of a corridor.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic hostel in a stunning location. the cleanliness of this place was impeccable, with well-maintained temperature-controlled bedrooms that had lockers and plug-ins for convenience. The toilets and showers were by far the best I've encountered in all my travels in Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, the hostel provided a complimentary dinner with winter specials, including a delicious vegetable soup. The staff were extremely helpful and the wifi was reliable. The common area, complete with a cozy fireplace and comfortable sofa set, was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring. The kitchen was well-equipped with top-notch appliances and utensils, and everything was neatly organized with individual labels. Another highlight was the TV room, which had a great selection of DVDs and even a pool table for entertainment. Lastly, the location couldn't be beaten. Nestled at the foothills of snow-capped mountains and a glacier, this hostel offered breathtaking views and easy access to hiking trails. It truly felt more like a combination of a hotel and a hostel, and the affordable price made it even better.
All was great; no improvements needed.

Great place to stay for visiting the glacier. Facilities are top-notch, with spacious lockers in the dorms and a cozy lounge area with a fireplace. the kitchen is well-equipped and there's even a sauna. Everything is kept clean and tidy. the location is excellent, within walking distance to the glacier walk and close to supermarkets and restaurants. The hostel also offers a free vegetable soup dinner, which is a nice touch to bring everyone together. Cons: Nothing to be said. 🤷♀️.

The location of the hotel was perfect, very close to restaurants and a supermarket. the staff was super helpful and enthusiastic, providing all the information I needed for walks and tours. I also appreciated the small details in the room, like the towel stands and the small light for each person.
The communal kitchen was quite dirty, despite the staff's efforts to clean it. the room I stayed in had a musty-moldy smell, which was quite off-putting.
